VOYAGER SPOTLIGHT: DEE
| |Dee, 20 COUNTRIES, 3 CONTINENTS & COUNTING!
Meet Dee. 🙂 Dee currently resides in the United Kingdom and Barbados (one is home, one is work).
Home Country: Barbados.
Where I’ve Been: Antigua, Bahamas, Brazil, Cuba, England, France, Germany, Grenada, Guyana, Holland, Italy, Jamaica, Trinidad, St. Kitts, St. Thomas USVI, Tortola, St. Croix BVI, Spain, Suriname, USA.
Unforgettable Travel Moment: I have two actually: the Amerindian Village in the interior of Guyana and The Craft market in Havana, Cuba. I never saw myself as a nature person but on my way into the interior of Guyana (at the mouth of the Amazon) in a small boat (and I mean SMALL) I felt such peace. I was spellbound by the beauty of the river and the birds and the trees and the children canoeing (is that a word???) from house to house on the river bank. Now, that was AMAZING!
#1 Bucket List Destination: an African or Asian country but secretly it’s the Seychelles.
My Travel Essentials: Underwear and soap hahhaha, sneakers or tennis shoes – your feet would thank you later.
What I have learnt while travelling: Always carry your compassion with you and your willingness to learn.
The most difficult part of travelling is: The time it takes to learn things and then finally understanding how to get around on your last day. 🙁
Travel tips for other Voyagers interested in budget world travel: Always plan ahead to get the best rates and try going to places just before or just after the peak tourist season.
