JASMINE, 20 COUNTRIES, 4 CONTINENTS & COUNTING!

Meet Jasmine. 🙂 Jasmine is a student of Public Health and currently resides in Philadelphia, PA.

Home Country: USA.

Where I’ve Been: I travel as often as I can and have been to every continent except South America, Australia, and Antarctica. I’ve previously lived in Nigeria, Botswana, and Germany, and have visited several countries in sub-Saharan Africa, Central Europe, and Asia.

Unforgettable Travel Moment: Being proposed to at the Johannesburg airport. 🙂

#1 Bucket List Destination: Outer space (seriously, I want to go into orbit!). But on planet Earth, Equador and the Galapagos Islands.

My Travel Essentials: Besides the usual (passport, phone, etc.) I always travel with my grandmother’s Bible. I also pack toiletries that I may not be able to find at my destination.

What I have learnt while travelling: A whole lot of patience!

The most difficult part of travelling is: Attempting to sleep on planes. Knowing that the trip will come to the end.

Travel tips for other Voyagers interested in budget world travel: I always check multiple discount flight sites late at night on off-peak days (ie. Tuesday) for the best flight deals. Buy in advance if you can. Package deals are also good (I’m all about convenience). Use Airbnb and Uber for lodging/transport. Use a bank or credit card that has no foreign transaction fees. Check the State Department’s website for visa requirements and travel alerts. Travel light if possible and check airline baggage policies (I’ve spent so much money on excess baggage it’s not even funny).

To follow Jasmine’s travels, connect with her on LinkedIn and at @inmytravels on Tumblr (travel picture blog). 🙂
