Voyager Spotlight: CURLINE

Curline, TOO MANY COUNTRIES & COUNTING!

A happy Curline at Gangabal Lake, India.

A happy Curline at Gangabal Lake, India. 🙂

Meet Curline. 🙂  Curline currently resides on Earth, and her home base is Madrid, Spain, for now.

Home Country: Jamaica

Where I’ve Been: Many islands in the Caribbean, many cities throughout the USA; Columbia, China, India, Morocco, Belgium, France, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, and over the seas and oceans that unite them all.

Unforgettable Travel Moment: Trekking to Gangabal Lake in Cashmere (India), the pilgrims I met on the way, hanging out with the gypsies living in the mountains, and what it felt like to just be at 3,600 meters above sea level.

#1 Bucket List Destination:  Dominica (the nature isle with it’s myriad hot springs).

My Travel Essentials: Passports, iPhone, raw foods, gifts for people I’ll meet, my talents, a free spirit and an open heart.

What I have learnt while travelling: We are all on a journey. Be open and alert to the kindness of who/what you encounter and encounters you. Be in the moment, because although it will be nice to have all those photographs and video you’ll be taking, inside the moment is where it all happens, it’s where the joy is.

The most difficult part of traveling is: Passing through security checkpoints – figuring out what best to pack or wear to make the experience as easy as possible, but once you’ve got a technique down it’s a breeze, even in tense moments when you’re standing barefoot, arms spread outwards as you’re being scanned, again, and you’re thinking, “so what else am I going to have to take off now?”.

Travel tips for other Voyagers interested in budget world travel: Do it like a local. Ask yourself how would the locals do it. Relationships are the best asset and go a very long way, sometimes much more than money.
